Trace

Trace and takedown services: what each one does

Takedowns clean up after a leak. Trace tells you who to stop sending to.

If your content has leaked, you have probably looked at a takedown service such as Rulta, BranditScan or Bruqi. You may also have seen Trace and wondered whether it does the same thing. It doesn’t. They answer different questions, and most creators who have a leak problem end up needing an answer to both.

  • A takedown service answers: where is my content, and can it be taken down?
  • Trace answers: which fan’s copy leaked, so I can stop sending to them?

Trace is not a takedown service and won’t become one. It can’t remove leaked content. We have no partnership or integration with any takedown service. This page is our honest read of how the two fit together.

Side by side

What a takedown service does compared with what Trace does
Question Takedown service CreatorSense Trace
What it does Scans the web for your content, sends removal notices to sites and search engines, and repeats as new copies appear. Gives each fan their own invisibly marked copy of a PPV. When a copy leaks, you upload it and Trace tells you which fan’s copy it was.
The question it answers Where is my content, and can it come down? Who leaked it, so I can stop sending to them?
What you get Fewer links in search and on cooperating sites, plus reports of what was found and removed. The fan’s account, an evidence pack, and a DMCA notice draft you can send or hand to your takedown service or lawyer.
What it can’t do
  • Tell you which fan leaked a file
  • Stop that fan leaking your next drop
  • Reach private chats and closed groups
  • Force sites that ignore notices to comply
  • Remove any leaked content
  • File takedowns for you
  • Name anyone from files sent before you started marking
  • Reliably name a fan from a phone filming a screen
When it helps most Your content is already spread across search results and leak sites. You keep selling PPV and want the next leak to point at someone.
Typical price Roughly $29 to $324 a month, depending on the service and plan. See the price table below. Free for 3 fans and 2 marked drops a month. Pro $30/mo, Studio $79/mo.

Our recommendation: use both

A takedown service deals with what is already out. Trace deals with who is putting it out. Used together, the cleanup gets smaller over time instead of starting again with every drop.

How the two fit together

  1. See what’s out. Run the free exposure scan or your takedown service’s scan.
  2. Clean it up. Let your takedown service work through the links, or send notices yourself.
  3. Mark every new drop. Each fan gets their own invisibly marked copy through Trace.
  4. When a marked copy turns up, upload it to Trace. It tells you which fan’s copy it was.
  5. Act on it. Stop sending to that fan before the next drop. Give the evidence pack to your takedown service or lawyer, along with the URLs.

On a tight budget? A DIY approach works too: send your own notices (our DMCA guide covers how) and use Trace’s free plan for your most valuable drops.

What takedown services do well

They save you hours. Finding every copy of your content and writing a notice for each one is slow, repetitive and upsetting work. A good service does it on a schedule, keeps records, and gets links out of Google and Bing, which is where most new buyers would otherwise find free copies. If your content is already widely spread, that is the most useful thing you can buy.

What they can’t change is where the next leak comes from. If one paying fan shares every PPV, the links keep coming back, and the cleanup keeps going. That is the gap Trace is built for.

FAQ

Is Trace a takedown service?

No, and it isn't going to become one. Trace does not remove leaked content or send notices for you. It tells you which fan's copy leaked, and gives you an evidence pack and a DMCA notice draft. Removal is the job of a takedown service, or of notices you send yourself.

Does Trace integrate with Rulta, BranditScan or Bruqi?

No. There is no partnership or integration with any takedown service. They work side by side: you can give your takedown service the leaked URLs and the evidence pack Trace produces, the same way you would hand them anything else.

Can a takedown service tell me which fan leaked?

Takedown services are built to find copies and get them removed. Knowing which fan leaked needs a unique mark in each fan's copy before you send it. If your service offers per-fan marking, ask it how a leaked copy is matched back to one fan.

Which should I start with?

If a lot of your content is already showing up in search, a takedown service saves you the most time now. If you mostly want to stop the same fan leaking again, start marking your drops with Trace. Many creators use both. Trace has a free plan, so adding it does not have to cost anything.

How much do takedown services cost?

As listed on their sites in October 2026: Rulta from $139/mo plus VAT, BranditScan from $69/mo, and Bruqi from $29/mo, with a free DIY plan. Higher tiers cost more, and all three offer yearly billing at a lower monthly rate. Prices change, so check each site before you buy.

Keep your takedown service. Add the part it can’t do.

Mark your next drop with Trace. If it leaks, you’ll know which fan to stop sending to. Free for 3 fans and 2 marked drops a month.
