In full
Ten sections, in plain English.
1. About the programme
The CreatorSense referral programme pays you a share of what the people you refer pay for Trace. These terms are between you and CreatorSense, a business name of Matt Orchard (sole trader), ABN 65 815 285 275, Sydney NSW, Australia and apply together with the Terms of Service. The overview is on the affiliates page.
2. Who can join
- You must be 18 or older and able to receive payments by PayPal or Wise.
- Any CreatorSense account holder can get a link in Settings, then Referrals. You do not need a Trace subscription.
- Law firms, coaches, communities and agencies that do not use Trace can email us to be set up as a partner.
- You must accept these terms when you create your link. We may decline or end a referrer at our discretion, for example where there is a conflict of interest or a breach.
3. How referrals are credited
- Your link looks like
creatorsenseai.com/?ref=YOURCODE; the short formcreatorsenseai.com/r/YOURCODEworks too. - When someone opens your link, a first-party cookie and browser record called
cs_refholds your code for 60 days. If they create a new CreatorSense account within those 60 days, the account is credited to you. - First touch wins. The first valid referral link a person opens counts. A later link does not replace it.
- Only new accounts count. An account that already existed, or that was already credited to another referrer, cannot be added later.
- One referrer per account. If a person clears their browser, blocks cookies or uses another device, the referral may not be recorded. We cannot credit referrals we could not record.
4. Commission
- You earn 30% of the net amount each referred account pays for Trace: the amount actually paid, after discounts and credits, and before tax. Not the list price.
- Commission is earned for up to 12 months from the referred account's first paid invoice, and only while that account stays subscribed.
- Cancelling a paid subscription ends the referral for good. When a subscription the referred account has paid for is cancelled or ends, commission stops and the referral is closed. If the account subscribes again later, even within the 12 months, its new payments earn nothing.
- Cancelling a free trial does not end the referral. If the referred account cancels during its free trial, before any payment, the referral stays open. If it later subscribes and pays, commission starts from its first paid invoice as normal: up to 12 months from that invoice, with the 30-day hold and the first paid month rule in section 5.
- No commission is earned on the free trial, on refunded or credited amounts, or after the 12 months.
- An admin may agree a different rate or period with a partner in writing; that agreement then applies to that partner.
5. When commission becomes payable
- Each commission waits a 30-day hold after the payment it came from, to allow for refunds and chargebacks.
- It becomes payable only once the referred account has stayed subscribed through its first paid month. If it cancels inside that first month, the commission for that account is not paid.
- Refunds and chargebacks reverse commission. Commission on a refunded, credited or charged-back amount is reversed. If it was already paid out, it comes off your next payout. If we win a chargeback, the commission is added back.
6. Payouts
- We pay by PayPal or Wise only, by hand, once your payable balance is at least US$50. A smaller balance rolls over.
- We only ever ask for a PayPal or Wise email, never bank or card details.
- Make sure the payout email is right. We are not responsible for a payment sent to the address you gave us.
- Commission is paid in US dollars. PayPal or Wise fees and currency conversion are set by them.
7. Tax
You are responsible for any tax on the commission you receive, including income tax and any GST, VAT or sales tax, and for telling us if you are registered for GST. Commission amounts are treated as including any tax you must account for unless the law requires otherwise. We may ask for tax details (for example an ABN or a tax form) before paying, and may withhold payment where the law requires.
8. Rules you must follow
- No self-referral. Your own accounts, accounts you control, and accounts of your own business or team do not earn commission.
- No fraud. No fake accounts, stolen cards, incentivised sign-ups that never intend to pay, cookie stuffing, or forced clicks.
- No paid search on our brand. Do not bid on CreatorSense, Trace or similar terms or misspellings, and do not run ads that look like ours or use our name as your ad's display name.
- No spam. No unsolicited mass email, direct messages or comments. Share where people expect it: your community, your clients, your roster. Follow anti-spam law, including Australia's Spam Act 2003.
- Disclose the relationship. Say clearly, where people will see it before they click, that you earn commission (for example "I earn a commission if you sign up"). Follow the advertising disclosure rules where you post, such as the ACCC's guidance in Australia and the FTC's in the US.
- Honest claims. Describe Trace the way we do: it shows which account a leaked copy was delivered to. Do not say it takes content down, proves who shared a copy, or guarantees anything beyond the published guarantee. Do not offer discounts we have not authorised.
- No impersonation. Do not present yourself as CreatorSense or as our employee or official partner.
9. Pausing, ending and changes
- You can stop taking part at any time. Payable commission already earned is still paid once it reaches the minimum, or within 90 days of you leaving if you ask.
- We may pause or end your link for a breach of these terms. Commission earned through a breach is not paid, and we may recover commission already paid for it.
- We may change these terms or end the programme. We will email referrers at least 30 days before a change that reduces what you earn, or before the programme ends. Commission already earned is paid on the terms it was earned under.
10. General
- Taking part does not make you our employee, agent or partner, and you cannot make promises for us.
- We may use your referral name or link in reports to you. We do not use your name in our marketing without your permission.
- Our records of clicks, sign-ups, payments and commission decide what is earned, unless there is a clear error; tell us within 60 days if you think there is one.
- To the extent the law allows, our liability to you under the programme is limited to the commission payable to you.
- These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
