What to ask

Thirty-six questions worth asking.

The hard part of connecting a data source to Claude is not the setup, it is knowing what to say next. These are grouped by what you are actually trying to work out, and each group says which tool answers it and whether it is on Free or Pro.

Money you have already made

Revenue summary · Free

The revenue tool reports net of platform fees, so the answers are what landed rather than what was announced.

  • “What did I actually keep last month after platform fees?”
  • “Break my last 90 days of revenue down by platform.”
  • “Which platform pays me the most per hour of work I put into it?”
  • “How much of my income came from one platform last quarter?”
  • “Compare this month against the same month last year.”
  • “Show me the months where revenue dropped, and by how much.”

Whether the money is safe

Revenue summary, growth forecast · Pro

Concentration is the risk most creators cannot see from inside a dashboard, because each platform only shows you itself.

  • “If my biggest platform disappeared tomorrow, what would I be left with?”
  • “What share of my income depends on a single source?”
  • “Where is my revenue heading over the next three months at this rate?”
  • “Is my income becoming more or less dependent on one platform over time?”
  • “What would need to change for my second platform to cover my costs?”
  • “How volatile is my monthly income compared to a year ago?”

What to make next

Content performance, audience insights, opportunities · Pro

  • “What were my five best posts in the last 30 days, and what did they share?”
  • “Which of my recent posts underperformed, and how badly?”
  • “Is my audience shifting? Compare the last 90 days against the 90 before.”
  • “What format am I under-using given how my audience behaves?”
  • “Which platform is growing fastest for me right now?”
  • “Where am I under-earning relative to my reach?”
  • “What should I do more of, based on the last quarter and nothing else?”
  • “Which topics get engagement but no revenue?”

Before a brand call

Creator DNA, audience insights, content performance · Free and Pro

The one to run ten minutes before the call, so you are quoting your own numbers rather than guessing at them.

  • “Give me a full picture of my business before a brand call.”
  • “What are my audience demographics across every connected platform?”
  • “What is my genuine average engagement rate, not my best month?”
  • “What makes my channel different from others in my niche?”
  • “Which of my posts would I show a brand in this category?”
  • “What rate does my reach and engagement justify?”

Tax and what to set aside

Tax set-aside · Pro

  • “How much of what I earned this quarter should I not be spending?”
  • “What is my estimated tax position for the year so far?”
  • “If I keep earning at this rate, what will I owe?”
  • “How much should I move aside each month from here?”
Estimates for planning. Not tax advice, and worth confirming with an accountant before you file anything.

Workload and burning out

Posting workload, wellness indicators, schedule signals · Pro

These read your posting patterns rather than asking you how you feel, which is the point: the pattern usually shows the problem before you would admit to it.

  • “How much am I actually posting across everything, per week?”
  • “Has my output gone up while my revenue has not?”
  • “Am I showing signs of an unsustainable pace?”
  • “Where are the gaps in my posting, and did they cost me anything?”
  • “What would a realistic schedule look like based on what I sustain?”
  • “Which platform costs me the most effort for the least return?”

Getting a better answer

Name the window

“Last 30 days” or “this quarter versus last” gives Claude a range to pass to the tool. Without one it picks a default, usually 30 days.

Name the platform, or do not

Most tools take a platform filter. Say “on TikTok” to narrow it, or say nothing and get everything you have connected.

Ask for the decision, not the data

“Should I keep posting to X?” gets you a recommendation with the numbers behind it. “Show me my X stats” gets you a table you still have to read.

Follow up in the same thread

Claude keeps the earlier answer in context, so “now break that down by month” works without repeating yourself.

If an answer comes back empty

Almost always one of three things: the platform is not connected, the data has not synced recently, or the tool is on Pro and you are on Free. Ask “which of my platforms are connected and how fresh is the data?” first, since that tool is free and tells you which of the three it is.
